As part of the marking of the 22nd anniversary of the execution and murder of 8,372 Srebrenica residents, victims during the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), members of the Ecological Society for Protection and Breeding of Birds (EDZUP) have released 350 pigeons in the Potočari Memorial Center as a sign of peace.
The pigeons fled above the white graves, each of whom is hiding their sad destiny, and sent peace messages that are most needed to the survivors of the Srebrenica genocide, was stated from EDZUP.
Kemal Begic, an EDZUP member, with tears in his eyes said that he arrived from Slovenia to pay tribute to the victims of genocide.
“We sent messages of peace, the massacre in Srebrenica should never be repeated or forgotten, and we hope that with the pigeons will traditionally be released every year,” Begic added.
All the pigeons that were released in Srebrenica come from Sarajevo, and as Almir Smajko said, the pigeons will be back in the capital of BiH in 35 minutes.
